Anne Johnson loves the outdoors. She hikes with Tuesday Trekkers almost every week, usually on mountain and stream-side trails. During the winter she is a cross country skier. Anne is a board member of the Metropolitan Democratic Club, established in 1951 as an independent voice.
Anne was introduced to fishing trips, mountain climbing and camping by Ralph W. Johnson, who she met while a student at Univ. of Oregon. Ralph and Anne married and moved to Seattle in 1951, where she graduated from the University of Washington. They happily raised three children, now grown and doing well.
Kathy George has been practicing law, primarily in the environmental, land use, education and public records fields, since June 2006. Before that she was a law clerk to Washington Supreme Court Chief Justice Gerry Alexander. She also worked for 15 years as a reporter and editor at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, where she sometimes wrote about water pollution and other environmental issues. Kathy spent a summer as a legal extern for CELP while pursuing her law degree at Seattle University Law School.
Kathy grew up in Long Beach, California, where the nearest “river” was a trickle of water surrounded by cement. She and her son, Evan, have enjoyed visiting the Northwest’s ocean beaches, lakes, hot springs and streams. Kathy is especially fond of Lake Quinalt and its rain forests.
