Declining aquifer levels, 1935-2005

Water levels in the Grande Ronde Aquifer are declining one to three feet per year -- jeopardizing the long-term future of communities that rely on this sole source aquifer.  Washington State is permitting this Aquifer to be mined in violation of state law ~ in part to allow Washington State University to irrigate its new 18-hole golf course.  Click here for more on the Grande Ronde Aquifer.
